Allergy Testing
The answers to the most complicated appearing problems can be remarkably simple. There are countless patients who have a low grade allergy (known as reactivity) to certain exposures and are unaware that their body is reacting to an allergen (something they are allergic to). Contrary to popular belief, not all allergies present with watery eyes, runny nose, hives and a swollen face. Many allergies are very slow in onset. These "slow allergies" can deplete a person's energy, cause fatigue, aches and pains, chronic or recurring headaches, migrating pain, recurrent infections and a host of other symptoms. Special blood tests are needed to help determine if there is an allergic component to your symptoms.
Other special blood testing can be of great use. Testing for heavy metals (Arsenic, Cadmium, Lead, Mercury etc.) can provide very useful information. Our constant breathing of air pollution, work near fumes, factories and car exhaust can expose all of us to unknown heavy metals.
